I don’t own God. I’d like to think I do. That I have the most astute understanding of who God is and who we humans and all creation are in relationship to God. That everyone should think exactly the way I do about God in order to be “right.” Nope. Sorry. God is bigger than any box anyone tries to put God into. Period. Everyone gets to experience God in her own way, and God’s Holy Spirit is poured out on “even the Gentiles”—the ones who don’t do things exactly the way I do. God calls us into a broad, all-inclusive, all-embracing love beyond our comprehension.
Gracious God, open my heart and mind to reach out in love and hospitality to all people. Amen.
