God calls us to help wherever it’s needed. Paul and his friends were wandering around trying to figure out where to go and share the good news next when Paul had this vision. And Paul went.

We don’t have to travel very far to find people in need of help. We live in societies ruled by the sins of injustice and oppression, in which God’s children are crying out for help. We don’t need to have mystical visions or dreams about it. All we have to do is open our eyes, read the news, listen to people’s stories.

It’s overwhelming if we think we have to address every single need. No one person can do it. I have to listen carefully to God’s call in order to figure out “What is my ‘Macedonia?’” And as soon as I know it, or even suspect it, like Paul, I need to go.

What is my ‘Macedonia?’
