God’s decrees are a mystery. Sealed behind seven seals so that no one may open them. John of Patmos weeps when he realizes there is no one worthy of opening the scroll. Frankly, I would feel the same way… I wanna know!!! But I know for me that “knowing” can be about control. I think if I have all the information about something, then I can make it work to my advantage in some way, so I can feel secure. It’s good for me not to know, because it forces me to trust. To trust that whatever it is that God has going it will be okay. I will be okay. I mean even if the absolute worst were to happen. It’s enough for me to know that God knows—whether the Lion of the tribe of Judah or the Holy Spirit or Creator God. My job isn’t to demand answers, but to respond in gratitude to what is, and ask God to just let me know what her will is for my life and how to carry that out.
Am I okay not knowing all the answers about God?
