You cannot have two masters.
Jesus uses this phrase to tell the people that they cannot love money and love God. If you try to love both, you will run into problems because your loyalty will be divided.
If we think about it, there are things in addition to money we might think we can be loyal to even as we try to be loyal to God, such as looks, property, popularity. You name it, we want things that are clearly in opposition to what God would want of us.
Is your loyalty divided? Has it caused any issues?

‘The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
Serving Two Masters
‘No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
