[Sheepishly raises hand whilst looking guilty] . . .

“K. Jesus? Um . . . I don’t get it!”

“The yeast of the Pharisees and Herod?”

Um. Wait. What?

I admit it. This one I had to look up again. I think what Jesus was referring to was the fact that it just takes a little bit of yeast (sin, truth, message, what-have-you) from the message and demands of the world to make the whole thing ruined. In the Old Testament, yeast was almost always seen as comparing to sinfulness.

So, yeah.

Dunno how relevant this is to our mode of thinking, but the message still rings true. How often is it that we listen about some new message or “way to truth” and place everything in the basket to get that?

Yup. Me too.
