Is it any wonder why scripture uses the extremely simple and straightforward images of light and darkness?

I believe it’s so, because anyone can relate to it. Well, except for blind people, I suppose.

I remember seeing a video of an interview of a child who had been born blind. The interviewer asked him what he though sight was like. He said that he thought it was like two smooth arrows coming from your eye sockets out into the world.

I suppose it was the only thing he could relate to.

One thing for sure is that our God is light. How wondrous that light is, too, when our lives are filled with worry and darkness.

Light of the world, shine in my life. Amen.
