Narrative Lectionary Key Verse for Today

By faith Moses was hidden by his parents for three months after his birth, because they saw that the child was beautiful; and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.

The really interesting aspect of today’s reading (and one I had not seen before) is that the writer of Hebrews indicates that Moses’ parents weren’t afraid of the Egyptians on account of their baby boy’s good looks!

Sometimes faith needs something else behind it to make us propel forward. Faith isn’t always completely going in the dark!

I find that extremely comforting, especially when I think how my faith feels lacking in other times. I believe that’s God’s willingness to work with our limitations and needs.

For that, I am thankful!

Does your faith sometimes need “just a bit more” to work?
