I have to admit, this is one of my more favorite stories in the Bible. Not so much that something “magical” happens. You know, that a voice came from a burning bush.

It’s more that God spoke to Moses and said that there was suffering, and that it must end.

During this whole pandemic thing, as it stretches on and on. I wonder if God hears our cries. I think of me, here, in my writing studio, and I think it kinda stinks. That I’m sick of it.

I’m sure we all are. In the same breath, I know how many more suffer much more than I have been.

Will our burning bush come? I’m thinking yes.

But perhaps we need to suffer a bit longer to realize that some good can come out of all of it. That we must hear the voices of the oppressed in a new way, to make a difference.

What’s your burning bush moment?
