I don’t mean to over-simplify or candy-coat, but sometimes the worst things that happen have amazing and positive results. Saul’s persecution of the early church sent its disciples scattering throughout the world, and wherever they landed, God’s word was planted and often took root. Saul himself would soon be driven from Jerusalem by persecution, and as a result, he planted communities of Christians all over the middle east and into Europe. As we sit hunkered down in the midst of a global pandemic, where do you see positive outcomes? We tend to focus only on the negative, getting mired in our fear. I don’t want to minimize the reality of the situation, only to challenge all of us to see how God can work even through this challenge, because God is always working.

Where do I see God working in the midst of the struggles in my life and the world?
