Isn’t that the truth?

You know . . . when we’re expecting something to happen or the story’s plot to turn a certain way. Or those times when you’re thinking that SQUIRREL!

Our expectations are often right. Face it, it works out when we think something is going to keep going on the way that we’ve expected it to since day one.

It was that way for David, losing the throne to Absalom.

Leadership isn’t a guarantee. The crowds can be fickle. You all think it’s going one way, but then, SQUIRREL!

The guidance we get is to never let our expectations ruin our day. We don’t have to be inflexible. Life comes with its twists and turns, and regardless where we stand at any given day, God will still be there. That’s a gift.

Or, SQUIRREL!

Thank you, God, that you allow us to experience the spontaneous. Help me to not let my expectations run my life. Amen.
