Witnessing is powerful. I have learned over time that few things keep me more connected to God, more aware of God’s presence in my life, and more grateful in general than my open sharing about what God has done for me. When I tell the story about how my life has been transformed (and continues to be created anew) by God’s grace and power, I open the door for others to recognize or affirm their own journeys, or to have hope that change is possible.

This is why we sing, “I love to tell the story!” And why we tell it again and again and again, day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year. Like the psalmist, who proclaims God’s mighty deeds for God’s people, we need to be reminded over and over who we are and whose we are.

When did I last share a story of how God showed up in my life?
