Once again, we meet the poetic expressions of faith in the Psalms. And once again, we’re left with our jaws wide, agape, sensing that there is nothing more to be said!
LOL. Really.
Here’s the thing…
I would never call the “law” a “delight” though. Would you?
I remember back when I was in seminary that one professor shared how his Jewish Rabbi friend from the south speak in a southern US accept how he “loved” the law and “delighted” in it.
The professor said that you could have easily confused him for a Baptist evangelical speaker.
Coming from a Lutheran theological perspective, I must remind myself that Martin Luther’s understanding of the “LAW” isn’t necessarily one that we always have to adopt as our modus operandi.
Perhaps there are other ways to see (and read) the Old Testament. Perhaps a “gospel” is contain within its pages, as well?
Perhaps.

Psalm 1
Happy are those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked,
or take the path that sinners tread,
or sit in the seat of scoffers;
but their delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law they meditate day and night.
They are like trees
planted by streams of water,
which yield their fruit in its season,
and their leaves do not wither.
In all that they do, they prosper.
