Jesus knew exactly what was happening.
He knew that there was a plot to have him killed.
He even shared this with his friends.
Rather than plot a great and daring escape, Jesus moved forward in his journey, heading towards this painful fate.
It’s more than any of us can imagine.
This prediction of the sacrifice Jesus will make is more than the disciples can understand.
But Jesus was willing. To be a sacrifice. To pay the ultimate price. And for that, we can be eternally grateful.
Oh Lord, we give you thanks for the ultimate sacrifice you made for each one of us. Amen.
