Astrophysicists tell us that, billions of years from now, the heat-death of the universe is inevitable. Buddhism teaches that all things are impermanent. All I need to do to see evidence of this is to look at the metal frame of the underbody of my car—Minnesota winter salty roads seem to make it super impermanent! Rusty dusty…
But God’s word stands forever? Certainly books and our culture will one day turn to ash, as well. What did Jesus mean when explaining this?
I believe what it means is that God’s Word will remain forever. The logos will endure beyond all.
That’s a comforting thought, especially when you experience the entropy of existence firsthand!
