Somebody really smart once instructed me that, “A person doesn’t just come up with the Gospel story by themselves—it’s a gift from God to make the conclusion that, pointing to the ugliness of the cross, that God loves us.”

I couldn’t agree any more fully today than I could when I first heard that.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Now, understand me correctly… I still believe it.

Why?

Because it’s been revealed to me and to many others than love can conquer all, even a despicable death on the cross.

God revealed to Peter that Jesus was the Messiah, the One whom God had sent to reveal these mysteries to us.

It’s wonderful, really.

Thank you God, for the gift of the Gospel, that you give us understanding when once there was only confusion and doubt. Amen.
