Recently I have been pondering my bucket list —you know, the things I want to accomplish, see, obtain, or do before I "kick the bucket." Here are some of the things on my list...

Learn Spanish. See Ireland. Sing at a funeral. Go skydiving. Sell a painting. Foster babies. These are just a few of the things on my list. I realize none of these will happen unless I make them happen. What strikes me most about my list is how few of those things are possessions to obtain. What I really desire is to amass experiences. Experiences are what makes me who I am. And when I die, I want to love who I am, shaped by all my experiences, good and bad. I hope, when all is said and done, that I have made the most of my life, and have bettered the lives of others. Those are things I can take with me, and I plan to take as much as I can.

Help me accomplish some things on my bucket list, O God. Help me see which ones are worthwhile, and which ones are not. Amen.
