Guidance should always be this clear. Even when I’ve put careful, prayerful thought into big decisions or actions, once I’ve moved forward, it’s always into the unknown. The outcome remains nebulous until time has passed and I look back with fresh eyes to see exactly where God has guided my steps along the way and provided amazing people in my life to help me along. It’s not that the pillars of cloud and fire aren’t there, it’s just that they don’t look like pillars of cloud and fire, and because of that, sometimes I miss them and wander off in the wrong direction.
The fact remains, though, that God does lead me where I need to go if I’m willing to trust the process, let go of the outcome, and keep my eyes and heart open to see where God is showing up.
