Once again, I do not agree with Paul. Subjugation is not okay in any form. Maybe it’s a translation thing, but more likely it’s a contextual-cultural thing. Truly healthy relationships are based in equality and interdependence. Does that mean that sometimes you’re not going to get exactly what you want in order for the benefit of the group? Sure. But does that mean you subject yourself to another’s wishes? Not one bit.

Christ calls us into a life of flourishing. If we live in relationship with others, we should be loving to one another out of reverence to Christ. Not subject.

What does a healthy relationship look like to me?
