Narrative Lectionary Key Verse for Today

I know this story is about Peter’s miraculous escape from prison, led by an angel right through the doors with no one noticing. But my favorite part of the story is this comical interlude in which Rhoda is so amazed that Peter is at the gate that she runs to tell everyone, completely forgetting to actually let Peter in.
I adore Rhoda, this wonderful woman whose joy made her totally blow it, bringing humor into the scriptures we tend to take all too seriously. I believe that God has a wonderful sense of humor. After all, human beings are hilarious and we are created in God’s image. Sure, an angel breaking Peter out of prison is amazing, but I think laughter can be just as miraculous.
Where have I seen God’s presence in laughter and joy today?
