Walking by faith is never easy. Day by day, we see that our mortal form ages as the years go by. And it’s always easier seeing this as we age even more.
I have one last year in my forties before the big 5 - 0.
It’ll come. God willing. Insh’ Allah.
When it does, I hope that I won’t dwell on all that has gone by. Instead, my prayer for my future self is to stay faithful to the promises God made in my baptism. That, walking by the faith God has given me and those of my brothers and sisters in Christ, that I, too, shall one day stand in the presence of God to know that my mortal life had been a gift from God to me, but also a gift that God’s work might have continued through me while my time in this world.
Thank you, God, for my life. May I not waste it to serve you the best ways that you know how. Amen.
