These words are like a hug to me. Not everyone grew up in or is an active member of a congregation, or is a part of my particular faith tradition. But for my entire life, nearly every Sunday morning worship service has begun with these words. It’s a warm, loving, and powerful invitation into God’s presence. God—Father/Mother, Son, and Holy Spirit—welcomes me into their eternal relationship, affirms my part in the dance of all creation. Grace, love, and communion—God’s constant offering to me. And, of course, any time I hear these words, I immediately respond, “And also with you,” because just as I am invited into this blessed presence, I invite others to the dance.

What words do I find most powerful in my own worship practice?
