What’s in your arsenal? Goliath comes to the battlefield brandishing some truly impressive weapons. David proclaims the far greater strength—God’s presence, for which weapons, no matter how impressive, are no match.

What do we bring to the challenges in our lives? Do we hope to bombard them with our mad skills and sheer power of will? Or do we approach them with the humility of knowing that we need God’s help to resolve what faces us? I feel like I have a pretty solid set of skills and abilities and a strong will. But I will tell you that in my life, all the best outcomes have resulted from my willingness to do the footwork and turn the results over to God.
