1 Corinthians 12:1-11, Spiritual Gifts

Narrative Lectionary Key Verse for Today

We value some gifts over others. We just do. For whatever reason, we hold up the showy, obvious gifts as better than the quiet, solid, and foundational gifts people have. Paul reminds us that every gift is important in doing God’s work in the world. All of them come through the amazing and inspiring work of the Holy Spirit. Just think about that. Whatever it is you are gifted at—and everyone has gifts—comes to you because the Holy Spirit lives in you, works through you, draws out of you exactly what you have that God needs. I kinda get goose bumps just thinking about that! Whatever gift, whatever service, whatever activities you do for your faith community or the world, remember that the Holy Spirit is inspiring you!

What are the things I have to offer in love and service to God and my neighbor by the power of the Holy Spirit?
