Surely coming. Please, O God. Please reassure us all that you are the one in charge. That you will act through us in vital and transformative ways. That the arc of the universe truly does bend toward justice. Light a fire in us that we might raise up leaders who exemplify your way of radical welcome and inclusion, of economic and social justice, of profoundly spiritual creativity, of deep commitment to the flourishing of all that you have made.
Relieve us of our mistaken belief that all this will be accomplished simply by electing one person to lead, as if that then absolves us of all responsibility for the way our society functions. Help us to see the arrival of just leadership as the beginning, rather than the end of our efforts to bring healing and wholeness to your beloved creation.
Strengthen our faith, O God. Strengthen our voices, O God. Strengthen our actions, O God. Amen.
