Psalm 139:13-18, The Inescapable God III

Narrative Lectionary Key Verse for Today

For it was you who formed my inward parts;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
— Psalm 139:13-14a

NL Daily Devotion for Friday, January 28, 2022

by R. M. Fergus, Clergy Stuff

I remember holding my infant daughter in wonder. Those tiny fingers and toes, those chubby cheeks, that full head of dark hair. For months I had been waiting, with no idea of what she would be like (or even that she was a “she”). Then at long last, there she was in my arms, ten pounds of amazing—a total miracle. I had to praise God, for she was fearfully and wonderfully made, indeed! As am I. As are you. Each of us is completely known by God and knit together in love.

How does it feel to know I am fully known by God?
