Generally, anything that smacks of judgment in the Bible makes me feel uncomfortable. It’s not that I disagree with the content, necessarily. But I want to relegate the word of judgment for other people, bad people.

Never me.

I suppose I worry that I will be one of those whom Jesus will say, “I never knew you.” I have to fall back on the trust that God is larger than my failures or my silly worries.

The fact is grace makes no sense when it sits absent from judgment. That is to say: grace IS grace because it’s giving more than the judgment has to take.

And for that, I’m thankful.

What aspect of judgment makes you feel uncomfortable? How does grace address that discomfort in your life?
