What good news do we have for the whole creation? As I write this in late June, the Pacific Northwest is experiencing record-breaking heat. Drought is everywhere. The ravages of climate change are making themselves known in all kinds of ways worldwide. The early church believed Jesus’ return was imminent. They could not have foreseen the mass destruction of God’s creation that humanity would have wrought two thousand years in the future.

Jesus still commissions us today to proclaim the good news to the whole creation. The good news that Jesus’ love and redemption are for everyone and everything God created. Our call today isn’t just to try to convince people Jesus loves them so they’ll be baptized and ‘saved.’ It’s to actually live out God’s saving love through our actions. That means our actions to all of creation. So again, what good news do we have for the whole creation?

How do I live out Jesus’ great commission to ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation?’
