I feel like this is a little too simple. No offense to Jesus, but I have a hard time believing anyone is an “evil person.” We are all products of our surroundings. If a person does “evil” you have to wonder what happened to them to make them the way they are.
That being said, we are, each of us, wholly responsible for our choices. There are plenty of people who had terrible childhoods and still become wonderful people. And there are plenty of people who had wonderful childhoods who do terrible things.
But all of us can store up “good treasure of the heart” which can produce good fruit—actions of love and service that transform the world one small moment at a time. They can even help someone who is struggling to begin producing their own good fruit. Everyone wins.
