Any mission begins with a single step, a single action, a single thought. Recently, I have begun an enormous project. I’m writing a novel. I’ve written four large, already published, nonfiction works, but never a story that I’ve completely made up on my own. (And, for my nonfiction writing brain, even typing the words “made up” feels like I’m doing something naughty!)

Anytime you begin a mission, whether it be small or large, it always begins with a single step.

So, too, Jesus knew that his mission to the seventy would begin by stressing the simplicity, the baby-steps, of what they needed to be doing. For in those many baby steps, God would eventually change the world.

And God is changing the world, too, with your life. No matter in what phase your life currently finds itself. God is about changing the world for good with each, small, little, step, at a time!

God, help me see my mission for you, today. Amen.
