Love with Life
Narrative Lectionary Daily Devotions written by Kace Leetch from Clergy Stuff.
We are called to love, not only with our hearts, but with our hands and feet. Love without action is like a balloon without air. It's there, but it doesn't have life. It doesn't bring joy. It doesn't have movement of any kind.
Love with our hands and feet breathes life into not only those we love, but into us, too. Love with action lifts us all. What could you do this weekend that expresses your love for another with your actions?
Narrative Lectionary Text: 1 John 3:18-22
Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. And by this we will know that we are from the truth and will reassure our hearts before him whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness before God; and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.
