And down it goes. Jeremiah has been warning Judah that this is the inevitable outcome of their rejection of God’s truth. There are Jeremiahs all around us right now, warning us that if we continue on our current trajectory, it will lead to violence, cruelty, even the collapse of our democracy. We need to listen. We need to repent. We need to take action. God help us to change direction.
