It’s kind of hard to think of feet as beautiful. You know, unless they’re the tiny feet of a baby—those are way beautiful! Also, the toe beans of a cat. Just sayin’. But I digress (as usual).
In the days before instant messaging (whatever did we do?!?!?) messengers had to run from place to place to carry important information. People had to actually wait to find out what was going on in the world until someone showed up with the latest. So imagine you’re living in a terribly uncertain time (okay, not a stretch) and you’re waiting with baited breath to find out the outcome of some kind of conflict, and here comes a runner, hot and tired from the road, and she shouts out “It’s over! There’s peace! God reigns!” Would you not think her dusty, callused feet the most beautiful things you’ve ever seen?
Flash forward to the present, when we’re inundated with information at such a rate we’re all perpetually a little dizzy. Imagine the impact we can have by bringing the message of God’s undying love for us, and God’s inspiration to be bearers of that love to others. Think of all the ways to encourage and inspire! And we don’t even have to get our feet dirty.
How can I be a messenger of God’s peace and salvation today?
