God worked from the outside in; from the big picture to the minuscule details. It reminds me a little of working with a big hunk of clay. To make it into something, you first have to work with the hunk, kneading to soften it or carving to shape it.

Then you begin to mold it into a form somewhat like you are going for, but without any details. Once the shape is formed, you can work on the details. Only then can you begin to see what its final form will look like.

For those of us who are big picture planners, we would do well to appreciate that the beauty is in the details. For those of us who are detail-oriented, we would do well to appreciate that, without the big picture, the details would never come into focus.

The little things matter to you, God! Focus our eyes upon these things, amen!
