Pastors, you are so important to the work of the church.
You connect parishioners to the love of Christ.
Sometimes, though, people forget that the church isn’t about their pastor. It’s about God.
It can be so easy for us humans to connect with the tangible - the person in front of us, rather than the God, who although we have faith, is hard to see and touch in the way we would like.
So, how do you help the people see that we, the pastors, are not what matters - and point them to God?
God of all, we thank you for our leaders that show us your love. Help us feel you as fully and as real to life as the people that surround us. Amen.
