A Woman Restored, Luke 8:45-48

What a wonderful image! People pressing in on Jesus from all sides, and Jesus asks, "Who touched me?" The answer is, obviously, many, many people touched him. But that wasn't what he was asking. He wanted to know who touched him with the faith poured out by the desperation of a woman bleeding and isolated. Despite the crowds, the noise, the pushing, Jesus noticed a single, grieved woman in need. Can Jesus notice me in a world of 7 billion people? What do you think?

Text:

Then Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and press in on you.” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; for I noticed that power had gone out from me.” When the woman saw that she could not remain hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before him, she declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
