I have a theory that, most of the time, Jesus worked more through the natural than the supernatural. Not to say that Jesus didn't have a bag of supernatural tricks - Jesus was certainly a miracle worker! But I also imagine many of the "miracles" might have been miraculously natural. 

This story of the feeding of the five thousand, for example, might have been supernatural. But let's play this out in the realm of the natural. When the day grew long and the crowds grew hungry, the disciples were ready to send everyone home. Instead, Jesus kept the crowds gathered and fed them with five loaves of bread and two fish. The food might have multiplied supernaturally - the miracle we expect. Or... the food might have multiplied because the people gathered shared what they brought with those that had nothing. Maybe they heard the words of Jesus and believed them. Maybe Jesus' teachings transformed them into people willing to give all that they had for the sake of their neighbor. 

This is still a miracle. The miracle may or may not have been the multiplying of the food. The miracle most likely was the transformation of hearts. Jesus did not teach, heal, and cast out demons for the sake of changing the natural order of things. He did those things to transform people.

We have organizations called, "Loaves and Fishes," where ordinary people gather to feed the hungry. In 2017 we do not expect the food to multiply supernaturally. The food multiplies because the hearts of people are transformed. People are fed because others have heard the words of Jesus and have responded in faith. The miracle happens every day.

The day was drawing to a close, and the twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside, to lodge and get provisions; for we are here in a deserted place.” But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish—unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.” For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” They did so and made them all sit down. And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled. What was left over was gathered up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
